HeartCode BLS Blended Learning uses a variety of eLearning assets such as dramatizations, eSimulations, animations, self-directed learning, and interactive activities to teach students BLS knowledge and skills.
After completing the online portion, students attend a structured BLS Hands-On Session with an AHA Instructor. This session focuses on meaningful skills practice, debriefing, team scenarios, discussions of local protocols, and skills testing. Where available, students may also complete the hands-on session with a voice-assisted manikin (VAM).
HeartCode BLS Blended Learning is for healthcare professionals seeking an alternative method for completing an initial or renewal BLS Course.
The BLS Provider Online Blended Course teaches CPR skills for helping victims of all ages, including providing ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device with oxygen, and use of an automated external defibrillator (AED); and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction. Intended for licensed and non-licensed healthcare professionals. The course completion card for the online course is identical to the card for the classroom course.
There are TWO parts to the AHA HeartCode BLS Online Blended Learning course:
Part 1 at your home or office: Online simulation and written test completion (0.5 to 2 hours).

It is necessary to show that you completed the online portion and passed the exam. If you do not have your certificate of completion, you will not be able to complete the skills practice and testing of the course.
Part 2 at our BLS Skills Check: Manikin practice and skills testing (20 – 30 minutes)
